As the project with the Infinity company is now complete I would like to express my opinion about the project itself and about the Infinity Consulting company.
The Last Mile company is a modern company operating on the Fibre Optics market. We produce terminal devices necessary to send and receive high-speed data transmission (100 Mb/s, 1Gb/s).
These transfer rates are necessary for telecom operators and cable operators in order to deliver high definition TV, video on demand, online gaming services and so on. As this technology is very modern and in its infancy the market for these products is widespread and fragmented all over Europe. Our company has locations in Denmark, Poland and China. Our current and potential clients are not very numerous, however they are scattered all over Europe. The market is growing fast – as is the competition. Therefore, rapid building of our position on the European market is the key success factor for us. That is why I decided to go for such a project.
After meeting with several companies we decided to start the project with Infinity. The reason behind this was threefold. First of all, their international team consisted of extremely competent persons. As I learned afterwards during the project they delivered 110% of what they promised. Secondly, they were able to see our business from the European market perspective. And last but not least, they were not only involved in consulting but also were an implementation company. They did a tremendous job for us building our distribution net on the European market, representing us during business shows, opening doors to our top clients. They also hired an appropriate sales team and trained them. They were able to deliver services to us in English, German, French, Danish and Russian. It helped tremendously to build close relations with our international clients.
The approach they took was very structured. First of all they analyzed our company. It appeared that our strategy was to a large extent a missed one. We were putting a lot of effort into business development but on the markets with small potential for growth. The analysis by the Infinity company showed us that many of our resources were allocated in the wrong way. A new strategy was proposed and accepted by the Board. The target European markets were segmented and prioritized. A lot of analytical information about our market was delivered to us by Infinity. Appropriate action plans were proposed and accepted by the Board. Once this phase was successfully completed, they started to perform the action plan as scheduled. Business trips all over Europe took place. They arranged meetings with our potential clients and distributors in chosen European countries. They visited them, presented our products, discussed cooperation terms and conditions. They also represented us at various business shows in the whole of Europe. This phase lasted roughly 7 months.
As we knew that one day the project would be over we decided to use Infinity’s professional expertise in order to build our sales department in-house. Infinity analyzed our need for staff in terms of requirements for the coming year. They developed “sales department staff plans” in which they detailed exactly what people we would need, when we would need them and how to find them. It is a great pleasure for me to recommend Infinity to any company wanting to build their presence in foreign markets and improve sales activities. I must say, that the results provided by them exceeded by far my expectations. One could say that we might have received the same results acting on our own. Maybe yes, however it would have cost us much more in time and money. The costs of the whole project compared to the benefits it brought to the company were very insignificant.
